Haiti Food Recipe Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds white sweet potatoes, peeled and cut
  • 1 large banana, peeled and cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • rind of 1 lemon, grated
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 3 teaspoons butter
Haiti Food Recipe Instructions:
First of all preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
And then grate sweet potatoes into mixing bowl and mash the banana into sweet potatoes.
Add all ingredients (except 1 tablespoon brown sugar) mixing each ingredient at a time until each ingredient is fully blended into the mix.
Spread evenly into 9x13 inch baking pan and sprinkle remaining 1 tablespoon brown sugar over the top of the pudding.
Bake for 1 1/2 hour or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

Caribbean Haiti Food Spicy Apple Crumbs

Caribbean Haiti Food Spicy Apple Crumbs
For the filling:
  • 1kg Peeled, and sliced cooking apples of your choice
  • 60g Brown cane sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tbl spoon water
  • 2 tbl spoons Ginger Wine
For the Crumble:
  • 200g Plain Flour
  • 50g Oats
  • 80g Butter (make sure it is at room temperature)
  • 100g Brown Cane sugar
Pre heat oven to 180 degrees centigrade,(around 350 degrees Farenheit)
Place the flour and oats in a large mixing bowl, then roughly chop and add the butter.
Lightly rub the butter into the flour and oats using your fingertips.
When it has all been incorporated add the sugar and combine with the other ingredients again using your fingertips for best results.

Put aside.

Put the apples, wine, sugar and spices in a large enough pot and cook very gently on a low heat until the apples have cooked down and are soft and translucent.
Spoon the apple mixture into a pie dish.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly on top of the apple, lightly spreading it out with your fingers.
Cook for aprox 30mins or until the topping is golden brown.

Serve the Haiti food recipe of spicy apple crumbs warm or cold, with cream, or ice cream.

Haiti Food Recipe Ingredients
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening and ¼ cup butter mixed together
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons of parsley
  • 2 chopped shallots
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 1 lbs pound ground beef, seasoned
  • 1 tablespoon of beef or broth
  • Hot pepper to taste
Haiti Food Recipe Instructions:

1.Pound to paste the parsley, pepper, shallot, and garlic.
2. Add seasoning paste and broth to cooked beef and mix well.
3. Cook covered on medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir constantly.
4. Uncover until liquids are absorbed. Now filling is ready.
5. Place flour in a large mixing bowl and make a whole in the center. Pour in water and salt. Mix lightly with a spoon without kneading. Place dough in refrigerator 30 minutes.
6. Roll the dough into a rectangle 1/4 inch thick. Spread half the shortening mix on the dough. Fold one side over the middle and spread this section with the remaining shortening. Fold over the remaining section and again roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Fold again into thirds and roll out. Repeat this rolling process a third time. Refrigerate dough overnight.
7. Roll the dough to about ½ inch thickness. Cut the dough into 2 1/2 inch rounds.
8. Place a tablespoonful of beef on one side of the dough rounds. Fold and lightly press ends together. Place the patties on a baking sheet. Brush the . Cover with remaining rounds, pressing the edges down. Brush the tops and edges of the patties with egg yolk before placing in the oven. Place a pan of water on the bottom rack of the oven.
9. Bake at 400 F 30 minutes, then turn the oven control to 300 F and bake 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Haiti Food Recipe INGREDIENTS
  • 1 or 2 teas very good quality 100% cocoa
  • Hot water
  • High quality vanilla essence
  • finely ground cinnamon
  • finely ground numeg
  • tiny pinch of salt.
  • milk either plain or sweetened
  • Sugar
Haiti Food Recipe INSTRUCTIONS
In a large mug, place your cocoa and your hot water, add milk as required.
Add sugar as required
Add a few drops of vanilla essence
Sprinkle in the cinnamon and nutmeg. about half of a 1/4 teaspoon.
Add a tiny pinch of salt.
Take a good stir and enjoy with a slice of homemade bread and butter...and the Haiti food and drink recipe is ready...Nice one !

Caribbean Haiti Food Love Cookies
A nice Haiti food recipe to try !
  • 230g(8oz) self-raising flour
  • 40g(1.5 oz) good quality 100% cocoa
  • 120g(40z) softened salted butter
  • 190g(7oz) brown organic caster sugar
  • 60g icing sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teas highest quality vanilla essence
  • 1/4 teas good quality finely ground cinnamon.
  • Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees celsius (aprox 350 degrees farenheit)
  • Put the flour, cocoa, and cinnamon in a bowl and mix together well.
  • In a small bowl place the eggs and the vanilla essence, lightly whisk together until there is just a little froth.
  • Put the all the sugar and the butter in a bowl and whisk together until creamy.
  • Add the egg mixture bit by bit untli all is blended.
  • Now add the flour mixture and mix on a low speed until just blended.
  • The mixture will be soft and pliable
  • Shape into balls and place on a greased baking tray about 5cm(2in) apart.
  • Bake for aprox 10-12 mins.
  • Let cookies cool before placing a small heart cutter on the centre of each of the cookies.
  • Sprinkle some icing sugar into the shape.
  • Now removing the heart cutter will reveal a little heart on top of the cookie. The Haiti food recipe of cookies is ready ...enjoy it !

Angeli’s Haiti Caribbean Food Fish Fritters
A nice Haiti Food Recipe of the Carribean....
  • 150g (5.5 oz) chopped salt fish (Remember to soak the fish overnight to remove the excess salt.
  • 250g (1/2 lb) plain flour
  • 1 tablespoon chopped tomato
  • 1 dessert spoon chopped scotch bonnet
  • 1 tablespoon chopped spring onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teas thyme leaves
  • Approx 500ml (1pt) water
  • Oil
  • Large deep frying pan, or wok.
  • Heat oven to 220 degrees centigrade (428 fahrenheit)
Put the fish, flour, tomato, pepper, onion, and thyme leaves in a bowl and mix together.
Add the water bit by bit until you have a thick watery dough – you may not have to use all the water.
Roughly beat the egg and add to the mixture
Now vigorously beat everything together with a hand whisk to incorporate as much air as possible.
Put oil in pan and heat – you want it to be about 4cm (2inches) deep , you will know it is hot enough if you sprinkle a tiny bit of flour in and it sizzles.
Using a dessert spoon, drop in spoonfuls of the mix, and fry on both sides until golden brown.
Take them out and place in an ovenproof dish.
Once all are fried, put in hot oven for aprox 8-10 mins.

  • 1 c. dried kidney beans
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 lg. onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 c. raw brown rice
1. First of all pick over and wash the beans.
2. And then put the beans in a kettle with one quart of water; boil 5 minutes; remove from heat; add salt; soak one hour.
3. Next step is to chop garlic and onion.
4. Saute garlic and onion in 1 tablespoon oil.
5. Transfer garlic and onion, along with pepper and cloves, to a casserole.
6. Drain beans, reserving liquor.
7. Saute beans in 1 tablespoon oil and add to casserole.
8. Combine bean liquor and enough boiling water to make 5 1/2 cups; pour over casserole and bake at 250 degrees for 2 hours - beans soften.
9. Stir in raw rice and bake for another hour; add water if needed.
